Giant Bicycles Sponsor Real Riders

In a great marketing initiative from Giant Bicycles Australia, they are giving 'real riders' the opportunity to become a sponsored cyclist.

Team QUON are happy to announce our very own Ian "Mongo" Mongan as one. The Mongo Beast said it was great to finally be noticed. "Rahhhhggghhhhhjjjjjjjaaaarrrr" he said.

Ian has asked QM Mark Terracini if it will be OK if he wears his sponsored athlete Giant Bikes knicks with his TQ jersey to this seasons crits. Mark replied by saying "What's going on? What's happening? What's he doing?" He then continued after a fair amount of mumbling "...no friggin way - not this sh!t again!"

Love is in the air

In far more exciting news than anything we have seen to do with cycling over the past few weeks, a new man crush has arisen.

It was sickening the amount of man love young QUONabee Ed has shown for our man Cadel 'Cuddles' Evans over the past couple of weeks through social networking sites Facebooks and Twatter.

Ed, you will forever be known as 'Cuddles' - you homo.

Chapeau Cadel, Chapeau

Congratulation to Cadel Evans, a true legend of Aussie sport. I have always been a big fan of Cadel. He wears the same turtle necks, and rides with the same sort of panache that I have in spades.

I will be cracking a chardonnay and more tonight, and will be wearing my BMC kit with pride now and descending like a daredevil on my epic rolls down to the cafe.

The Next QUON Road Trip

Gentlemen,

The QUON needs a new 'good' athlete to compete in an event (other than Canberra) for the next TQ Road Trip. We all know Baby Jesus is irreplaceable, but surely we can muster up the next big thing?

QM is fanging for another good road trip. Any suggestions?

DISCLAIMER: The athlete must FINISH the event.

Mitchell

Please don't call me Mitchell. The name is Beagle.

If you get a sudden urge to come flog your car, among other things, then feel free to come along next week.

Harry Tandy for Tridents Head Coach

TQ is happy to see the Tridents are currently in a recruitment drive for a new triathlon head coach. Many of us were high level participants in this novelty sport that have moved on to bigger and better things, so are happy to see this novelty sport progressing.
As such, we would like to nominate super-coach Harry Tandy to add to the impressively credentialed shortlist for this position. Harry is currently training a number of our team members for the upcoming TQ Road Running World Championships.
While predominantly a high class running coach, we are confident his sub-elite running knowledge will transition easily to the other sports.
His website is:
Feel free to talk to any TQ members for a verbal recommendation.

Harry Halverson is back!

Has anyone seen this man? We have. He was back and in fine form over the weekend. Well done Brother Poet - KILLING IT!

Shit got real Friday night

Twas Friday night, the 8th of July, and GFD's were on for the QUON in two cities around Australia. Old bulls were doing their thing down south in Malbarne after they were let off their collars by their trusting wives. Whilst the young bulls got stuck into it in the nations capital at Tongue and Moist. Twitter was flooded with smack between the two parties - it was a spectacle for all to see. In the end neither won the battle, the real winner was the till behind the bar.
